The Selborne Hotel is set in its own gardens reaching down to the promenade and waters edge. All the ground floor public areas including the bar lounge, restaurant and TV lounge offer uninterrupted views of the busy River Clyde and the Gantocks, where you will sometimes hear the seals and see them relaxing on the rocks at low water. The hotel has 98 bedrooms all with private facilities. Ground floor and Clyde view rooms may be available on request. All meals are waiter service, leaving you to sit back and leisurely choose your next course from our extensive set menus. Our chefs and restaurant team serve a full traditional breakfast each morning to set you up for the day. Sumptuous four course dinners are one of the evenings highlights which is sometimes followed by an evenings entertainment in the bar lounge. A Highland night on a Tuesday evening is a regular feature and a favourite of all our guests. Dunoon is a resort on the Cowal Peninsula and has plenty of amenities and attractions associated with a traditional seaside town. Dunoon nestles at the foot of the hills on the western shore of the Firth of Clyde where Loch Long and Holy Loch join the sea. The town has lovely gardens and century old villas which back onto a 4 mile flat promenade running along the front. Inland, but within a 15 minute walk from the hotel there is a modern indoor swimming pool with sauna and fitness centre, bowling greens and tennis courts, also both a 9 and 18 hole golf course are near by. There is a two screen cinema, and in season, occasional entertainment at The Queens Hall and the towns Burgh Hall. The resort plays host the annual Cowal Highland Gathering , the biggest highland games festival anywhere in the world which takes place on the last weekend of August. Loch Lomond is about an hours drive from Dunoon and the beautiful town of Inveraray can be reached in about 50 minutes. Glasgow is also within easy reach following a short ferry crossing (It is advisable to check ferry times) IMPORTANT CLIENT INFORMATIONDINING:Breakfast is served from 8am until 9am, evening meals served from 6pm until 7pm. The hotel will confirm your dining times on arrival. You can pre book your evening meals at a discounted rate of £10 per person per night - please call or email the hotel to book. Hotel not suitable for henstag parties.PAYMENT and CANCELLATION:A deposit of £25 (non-refundable) is due at the time of booking. Full payment will be taken from the card provided 3 days prior to your arrival. In case of cancellation up to 3 days prior to arrival no fee will be charged. In case of cancellation less than 3 days prior to arrival or in the case of a no-show the full amount of the stay will be charged.

Directions

By Car: From the South of England: Join M6 motorway follow M6 The North West until you enter Scotland. Continue on A74M onto the M74 exit at junction 4 and join M73 bear left onto M8. Depart M8 at junction 30 onto M898 to go across the Erskine Bridge which will take you onto the A82. At Tarbet join A83. After the Rest and be Thankfull pass go onto A815 to Dunoon., turn left onto Jane Street and then right onto Clyde Street where the Selborne Hotel is located. Alternatively continue along the M8 to Greenock and pick up Clyde Ferries - Argyll Ferries (passenger only) or Western) . Please note that the ferries do not run 24 hours, please check for last sailings. By Air: Approximately 25 miles from Glasgow AirportBy Rail: Line terminates at Gourock Railway Station. Take Caledonian MacBryne Ferries across to Dunoon and follow directs from above.
